collaborative and regenerative futures

interrlab is a platform for visionary innovation design rooted in post-disciplinary collaboration. We catalyze processes that move beyond conventional boundaries, connecting diverse domains to imagine and prototype transformative responses to today's most complex challenges. At the core of our approach lies a future-oriented mindset, driven by the urgency to rethink the role of technology in society through ethical, inclusive, and imaginative frameworks.

The Collingridge Dilemma

The "Collingridge dilemma" states that, in the early stages, it is difficult to predict how new technologies will be used later on, but it becomes impossible to steer them in a different direction once they have become widespread.

Post-disciplinary collaborations

Incompatible frameworks of thought can stimulate creativity, a process Arthur Koestler called bisociation (1964). When we bring together artistic speculation and scientific research, we are not simply merging two different approaches to knowledge: we are creating a hybrid territory where boundaries between systems, languages, and methods become less rigid, allowing new forms of insight and imagination to emerge.

Visionary innovation

Visionary innovation is the ability to imagine futures that break with linear expectations. It treats uncertainty as a fertile space for new meanings, uses, and values to emerge. This approach requires stepping beyond disciplinary silos, embracing the interdependence of scientific, social, and industrial domains to design the conditions for transformation, rather than simply projecting trends.

why interrlab

Addressing complexity and today's challenges, requires a interrelated mindset that transcends knowledge boundaries, creating a neutral space for ideation and, above all, for experimentation, where dialogue becomes essential to foster new 'out-of-the-box' perspectives. We call this space interrlab because it is grounded in the idea of interrelation — between people, skills, resources, and the actors of an ecosystem that must be not only innovative but also inclusive. Our approach serves as a catalyst for visionary ideas and projects, driving progress and pushing boundaries. Our work moves between policy and innovation —scientific, social, or industrial — depending on the context in which we operate.
